I'd love to join in (fair isle is a technique I have been meaning to tackle), but am a bit afraid to commit right now because my schedule over the next few months is completely wacky. :p Plus I just found a similar sweater I had thrifted over the summer and tucked away (aka "forgotten") for the winter. But, I shall be following with interest, and hopefully will be able to jump in at some point! :)Caseyhttp://elegantmusings.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7659360650582709851.post-51749568064486048882011-09-13T10:54:08.105-05:002011-09-13T10:54:08.105-05:00What a great idea for a fall/winter KAL. I think a KAL would be the perfect opportunity for me to get better with my throwing technique.

While I think this pattern is cute, I think I'd end up choosing one of my own patterns to knit instead. Although this isn't my "wowee, Fair Isle!" sweater choice, I'd take you up on the optional changing of the collar to a crew style. I would also choose colors closer to the Folk Vest image, which is where your yarn selection information would come in handy.

Also, thanks for spelling out the difference between the three techniques; I had no idea!Kathyhttp://www.16sparrows.typepad.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7659360650582709851.post-34790903093495803042011-09-12T12:45:59.971-05:002011-09-12T12:45:59.971-05:00I won't be joining in, as you know mum does my...I won't be joining in, as you know mum does my knitting, but it's a cute sweater!Straight Talking Mama!https://www.blogger.com/profile/13010105224878943505noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7659360650582709851.post-70195240626447999852011-09-12T12:23:34.289-05:002011-09-12T12:23:34.289-05:00I love the idea of a knitalong BUT I've just s...I love the idea of a knitalong BUT I've just started my own vintage Fair Isle sweater (I'm LadyMissP on Ravelry if you want to see the pattern I chose) and I know it will be a time consuming knit so won't have time for any similar projects.
